FREE CLEMATIS TEMPLATE…

I was watching Create & Craft the other day as they were trying to sell me yet another CD ( No I didn’t buy it) and they kept going on about how paper flowers were the biggest crafting trend at the moment.  It made me think…I got the idea of flowers from various peoples videos but it’s sort a chicken and egg thing. Which came first the crafters wanting to make flowers or flowers being presented to us and we all go Oooo I like that ? Do we make thrends like the birds and cages or do we get on board the train because thats all thats around at the time ? Mmm one to ponder I think….

Anyway like a sheep I am doing the flower thing….I saw a clematis on the program and I liked the idea but I wanted more flexability than the click and print idea so I have made my own. First I have made a Digi stamp. Colour and black and white png.

Then I made a cutting file ….I cut mine out of super smooth decoupage paper ( Create and Craft are good for something) and coloured them using my water colour pencils. The template comes with 2 part flower, leaves, bud and that curly bit that clematis has. The centre is a disk and you just snip up to the perforated lines. I did try and make them cut out but I found they took ages and it was easier to snip and less formal looking.

I am going to have a play tomorrow and see if I can make a little video tutorial on how to colour using watercolour pencils…no idea if I can… but worth a play 😀
